چکیده

Abstract − The research was conducted to examine the effects of saline-irrigation water on growth and fresh pod weight okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) under climatic conditions Kabul province, Af-ghanistan. This study consisted four treatments having different salinity levels irrigation water, (T1:0.0mM, T2:5mM, T3:10mM, T4:20mM), which were applied throughout growing season in plastic pots with a randomized complete block design. Results showed that saline caused significant reduction germination seeds (in T1:98% germination, T4: 53% germination), leaf length T1:9.17 cm, T4:6.8cm length), shoot height T1:15.43cm, 13.87cm Shoot height) root T1:15.37cm, T4:8.7cm length). Okra plants grown salt stress significantly decline yield as compared control treatment. While 6904kg/ha obtained treatment (T1), 6696kg/ha, 4772kg/ha, 3100kg/ha T2, T3 T4 applications, respectively. Water use efficiency maximum minimum level 20mM. A value 13.08kg/ha/mm computed for 5.87kg/ha/mm 20mM, 5mM 10mM 12.68kg/ha/mm 9.04kg/ha/mm As result, parameters decreased increasing concentration ECiw (electrical conductivity water). Salinity adversely affected morphological physiological characteristics okra.

Fertigation response of Abelmoschus esculentus L. (Okra) with sugar mill effluent in two different seasons

The fertigation response of sugar mill effluent doses namely: 5%, 10%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% on Abelmoschus esculentus (var. IHR 31) in two different seasons, that is, rainy (Kharif) and summer (Zaid) seasons was investigated. The study revealed that fertigant had significant (P<0.01) effect on moisture content, EC, pH, Cl , OC, HCO3 , CO3 -2 , Na + , K + , Ca 2+ , Mg 2+ , Fe 2+ , TKN, NO3 2, ...

Response of lateral placement depths of subsurface drip irrigation on okra (Abelmoschus esculentus)

Subsurface drip irrigation is defined as application of water below the soil surface through emitters, with discharge rates generally in the same range as surface drip irrigation. It has many advantages over surface drip. To see the response of subsurface drip irrigation on okra yield, a study was conducted at Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India during 2003 and 2004. Okra (...
